he Begining of the Memento Project:

I have always been fascinated by objects we carry every day the small, functional tools that reflect who we are. As a designer, I wanted to bring my own vision to this world: refined materials, minimalist forms, and mechanical precision. The idea behind Memento was born from that passion to create an elegant, safe, and beautifully engineered balisong trainer designed for movement and expression.

Behind the Memento Balisong

I started sketching the first concepts of Memento in my Paris studio, looking for a perfect balance between symmetry, weight and movement. I wanted a trainer that felt premium, not just practical something you’d enjoy flipping as much as looking at. Every curve, every pivot was refined in 3D modeling before moving to prototyping.

The Memento is the result of multiple iteration and developpements, at first this was the original design of the balisong, It may look similar to the final version but it is abslutely not. The Memento was first designed to be a premium titanium balisong, featuring a pinless design between the blade and the handles, with very a geometric design. As you can see the patern of the end of the handles the patern was striyated and very thin, but I soon understood that it was not technically feasable.

First 3D model / 3D Prints

To be sure of the dimensions, paterns and feeling in the hand I 3D printed a 1:1 version of it.

A new version quickly resulted, making the handles in anodised Aluminium and addding pressed fit pin to ensure the durability. Also the patern at the end of the handles changed to a technicaly feasable one.

After months of prototyping and testing, the final version of Memento is ready for production. I’m now partnering with a trusted manufacturing team experienced in precision metalwork to bring the first units to life.
